I am Mohammed El-Koumy a teaching and research Assistant at the Computer Engineering Department at Tanta University, specializing in Information Retrieval and Natural Language Processing. I am actively seeking a PhD opportunity to conduct research on grounding and reasoning in LLMs, especially their interplay with knowledge graphs and semantic search.

I defended my Master’s degree in November 2023, specializing in Information Retrieval and Question Answering, at the Computer Engineering Department of Tanta University. My research was supervised by Dr. Moustafa F. Alzantot and Prof. Amany Sarhan.

My academic career began after completing my military service in October 2020. Prior to this, I graduated with honors from the same department in August 2018, ranking first in a cohort of over 160 students.

Over the short period of my career, I discovered a deep sense of fulfillment in sharing knowledge and guiding my students. I aspire to become a regionally renowned professor in this fast-growing area and to nurture the next generation of researchers from my community.
